CAN suspends Lamichhane from both domestic and international cricket

KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has suspended former Nepali Men’s National Cricket Team’s captain Sandeep Lamichhane from both the domestic and international cricket.

The association took a decision to suspend Lamichhane after the Kathmandu District Court handed eight year jail sentence to Lamichhane convicting him in rape case.

Earlier, following the verdict from the Kathmandu District Court, Lamichhane had communicated his decision to the Cricket Association Nepal (CAN), expressing his intention not to continue his participation in the national team.
