Meeting held to discuss Prime Minister's China visit

KATHMANDU, Sep 10: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is holding a meeting with the concerned parties about his upcoming visit to China. The meeting is being held in the Prime Minister's Office and the Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.

Along with the Prime Minister, the main leaders of the parties represented in the Parliament, former Prime Ministers, the Foreign Affairs Minister and the former Foreign Ministers are present in the meeting.

Speaking in the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed that he believes that the China visit will be successful and effective and mentioned that he had done the necessary homework for the visit.

The Prime Minister also informed that the would inform the UN General Assembly about topics such as the role of Nepal in development efforts, climate change and its impact on countries like Nepal and Nepal's efforts to conclude the peace project. He also said that he would appeal to the UN for joint efforts.

Political leaders including Nepal Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, CPN-Unified Socialists Chairman Madhav Nepal, Rastriya Janamorcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC, RSP Vice President DP Aryal, RPP Deputy Chairman Buddhiman Tamang and others have participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the leaders have given the suggestions to pay attention to maintaining a balanced diplomatic relationship with the neighbours, reviewing the implementation of past agreements, paying attention to the mutual interest of both countries including each other's security, making the neighbouring countries trust Nepal's non-aligned foreign policy and doing the homework on these topics before going on the visit.

The Prime Minister's Office has informed that Prime Minister Dahal will hold a meeting with foreign experts later today.
