Congress Deputy General Secretary undergoing treatment in ICU, health condition stable

KATHMANDU, Sep 6: The health condition of Deputy General Secretary of Nepal Congress and former minister, Mahendra Yadav, is stable.

The National Trauma Centre issued a press release on Wednesday informing that Yadav is being treated in the ICU.

The Deputy General Secretary was attacked by a khukuri at Bhrikutimandap on Wednesday. He was attacked by Shyam Bahadur Sapkota, a resident of Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot, as he was leaving the Reporters Club.

The Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Badri Rizal, issued a press release stating - "We inform you that no internal injuries have been seen during the CT scan of the head. An operation has been done on the wound on the back of his head by experts in Neurosurgery/Orthopedic surgery and it has been stitched to stop the bleeding. Now he has been kept in the ICU under the direct supervision of doctors for observation. We inform you that his health condition is stable and he is being treated in the ICU under the supervision of the doctors."

According to the Trauma Centre, Yadav suffered deep injuries on his neck and the back of his head due to the sharp edge of the weapon.
