T20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers: Nepal beats Bahrain by 10 wickets
KATHMANDU, Sep 1: Nepal has emerged victorious in the second match of the ICC T20 Women's World Cup Asia Region Qualifiers. Nepal defeated Bahrain by 10 wickets in their second match of the ongoing tournament in Malaysia on Friday. After defeating Malaysia in their first match played on Thursday, Nepal has gotten a second consecutive victory today.
Bahrain, who won the toss and decided to bat first, could only make 31 runs before being all out in 15.4 overs. Nepal, who came down to bat in response, won without losing any wickets in 2.5 overs.
For Nepal, opener Kabita Kunwar contributed 17 unbeaten runs and Sita Ranamgar contributed two unbeaten runs. Kabita Kunwar faced 14 balls and hit three fours.
For Bahrain, Captain Deepika Rasangika made 11 runs, Ishara Suhun and Asha Samildeen made 5 runs each, while opener Tharanga Gajanayake made 4 runs and Pavithra Shetty made 1 run.
Nepalese bowler Indu Barma took three wickets. She bowled four overs and took two maidens for just five runs. Khusi Dangol took two wickets, while Kabita Kunwar, Puja Mahato and Rubina Chhetri took 1 wicket each.
Nepal is facing Bhutan on Sunday, Qatar on Tuesday, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday.
