Abdul Khan unanimously elected Chairman of Industry Committee

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Janamat Party's MP, Abdul Khan, has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Industry Commerce and Consumer Interest Committee of the Parliament.

Khan was elected unanimously after RSP's Ganesh Parajuli withdrew his nomination in the Committee's leadership election on Monday.

Nominations for 10 parliamentary committee was registered on Sunday. Among them, there were only single candidates for each of the remaining 9 committees.

The election was expected to be held on Monday as there were two candidates for the leadership of the Industry Committee. But RSP's Parajuli withdrew his nomination and Khan was elected unanimously.

The meeting of the Committee is currently postponed until further notice.
