Nepal to participate in World Swimming Championship
Kathmandu - Nepal is to particpate in the 17th Asian Wolrd Swimming Championship taking place in Budapest of Hungary.
A six-member team including four athletes is leaving for Budapest on Wednesday in the swimming championship to be held there on July 23.
National Sports Council (NSC) Treasurer and Olympian Surendra Hamal and Swimming Association's General Secretary Jagatman Shrestha saw off the Nepali team amidst a programme.
Athlete Subham Shrestha is contesting on 50 and 100-metre breaststroke while Anubhab Subba is taking on 50-metre butterfly and 100-metre open style in the championship.
Likewise, towards women category, Sofia Shah will take part in the 50 and 100-metre free style and Tisa Shakya is contesting on 100-metre breaststroke and 200-metre free style.
The team includes official Paras Shrestha and coach Ratna Lal Maharjan.
Similarly, Nepal has clinched a gold medal and a silver medal in the Sarawak Chief Minister Borneo Cup International Taekwondo Championship.
In the championship held at Kuching of Malaysia, Nepali player Pujan Khadka won gold and Shivahari Shrestha clinched silver, shared coach of the team, Bikes Bidari.
