Metropolitan halts demolition in Kapan until inspection

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: The Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balen Shah, and the Mayor of Budhanilkantha Municipality, Mitharam Adhikari, have decided to halt the demolition of physical structures around Khare Khola until further inspection.

The officials of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Budhanilkantha Municipality have started the inspection of the area from Sat Tale to Faika, with the help of the representatives of Chabahil Land Revenue Office.

There was a clash between the locals and the Metropolitan Police after the Metropolitan ran a dozer on the area without discussing it with the locals. The locals of Sat Tale started protesting after the Metropolitan City started demolishing the physical structures around the Khare Khola River.
