Locals protest after Balen runs dozer in Kapan
KATHMANDU, Aug 10: Locals have protested after the Kathmandu Metropolitan City ran a dozer on the river located at Sat Tale in Kapan. The Kathmandu Metropolitan used the dozer to remove a slab placed on the river.
Mayor Mitharam Adhikari informed that there was a dispute between the locals and the Metropolitan after they used a dozer in the Budhanilkantha area. "We are now having a discussion after the dispute", he said.
The locals even said that there was a clash between the locals and the City Police who went there to remove the slab.
The aforementioned area is prone to flooding, even from slight rainfall. A Hume pipe is placed downstream of the river. As the river is narrow, the surrounding residents face the problem of flooding frequently.
