Ireland knocked out of World Cup as Canada reigns victorious

AUSTRALIA, July 27: The Republic of Ireland gets knocked out of the Women's World Cup as Canada grasps victory against Ireland in a tough match of 2-1.

The first goal of the match was scored by Katie McCabe in the 4th minute of the match. But Ireland couldn’t keep the lead as Canada scored twice as many to win the game.

Megan Connolly scored the first goal for Canada during the additional time of the first half. The second goal was scored by Adriana Leon within the first ten minutes of the second half.

The Republic will be playing for pride against Nigeria, who face co-hosts Australia on Thursday, in their final match in Group B.
