16 injured in Salyan accident

Surkhet, October 10 — A Force Motors vehicle traveling from Nepalgunj to Rukum West met with an accident, injuring 16 people. According to the District Police Office in Salyan, the vehicle, with registration number Lu 2 Kha 5002, experienced brake failure and crashed into a wall on the Chaurjahari road in Kumakh Rural Municipality-3, Salyan.

Police Inspector Ramesh Khatri informed that there were 20 passengers in the vehicle. Among the injured, four are in moderate condition while the other 12 have minor injuries. They have been sent to Mission Hospital Chaurjahari, Rukum West for treatment.

Following the accident, the driver, 22-year-old Basanta Budhathoki from Salyan Kumakh-3, has fled the scene. Inspector Khatri informed that a search operation is underway for him.
