Writ filed against government programme to give MPs 50 million
KATHMANDU, July 19: A writ has been filed in the Supreme Court against the Parliamentary Infrastructure Development Programme (Parliamentary Development Fund) to give Rs 50 million to each Member of Parliament.
The writ was filed by Speaker Sagar Baral, Saugat Raj Baral and Law student Abinesh Adhikari on Wednesday. The hearing for the writ has been scheduled for the 20th of July.
The petitioners have demanded an interim order not to allocate Rs 50 million to the constituency of Item no. 425 of the Statement of Income and Expenditure of the fiscal year 2080-081.
