KATHMANDU, July 15: Activists demonstrated a protest on Saturday demanding the removal of the ban on marijuana in Nepal.

The activists protested in front of the American Embassy in Maharajgunj claiming that the 5-decade-old treaty signed by Nepal with the United States is ineffective and counterproductive.

The activists mentioned in a press release that this restrictive provision has not had any positive effect on the economy. They claimed that a country like Nepal cannot take advantage of marijuana because of the provision.
