LOD Club minor rape case: Arrest warrant issued against owner

LALITPUR, July 6: The Police have issued an arrest warrant against the owners of the Lord of the Drinks (LOD) club in Thamel, Kathmandu after a minor who went to the club was raped.

The Lalitpur District Police Range has obtained an arrest warrant from the Lalitpur District Court against the two owners of the club, Rudil Shrestha and Rajusingh Suwal.

A 15-year-old minor who went to the LOD club was raped by 50-year-old Sudan Koirala from Pokhara, who took her to his room in Lalitpur on the 14th of June. Koirala has already been arrested by the police. According to the police, Koirala and the minor met for the first time in the club. 

The minor, who allegedly went to the club with a friend, had also drunk alcohol. Koirala took the minor to the rented building of Paschimanchal Solutions Pvt Ltd at Bagdol in his car at 3:30 in the morning under the pretext of taking her home. The police have informed that Koirala is also a partner of the same company.

Koirala first kept the minor in another room after reaching the building. But after some time, Koirala came to rape the minor in the room where she was sleeping. Koirala ran away after the minor started screaming. The minor immediately called her relatives and informed them about the incident. According to the police, the minor was rescued at around 4:30 in the morning after the relatives informed the Police about the incident. Koirala, who was absconding, was arrested on the same day.

The minor from Udaypur gave the SEE exam recently. She told the police that she had come to Kathmandu for sightseeing. However, she has yet to reveal how and with whom she reached LOD.
