Singer and actor Robin Tamang found dead in his home

KATHMANDU, July 5: Popular Nepali Rock singer and actor, Robin Tamang, has passed away. He was found dead in his residence at Budhanilkantha-5, Chiseni on Tuesday evening, according to the information given to Ratopati by his sister Bhagawati Tamang.

Tamang was found dead inside his room. Inspector Dipendra Chand of Budhanilkantha Police Division said that the door of the room was locked and he was found dead when they broke in.

Robin’s body is currently being kept at the TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for post-mortem. The post-mortem will be done at 10 am on Wednesday, today.

The founder of the Rock band “Robin and Looja” (later on “Robin and the New Revolution”) was busy acting for movies lately. Robin, who was born in Singapore, came to Nepal in 1996. “Keta Keti”, “Mero Maya”, “Dum Maro Dum”, “Kalpana” and several songs sung by him are very popular among the youth.
