'Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasma' Producer Asit Modi Accused Of Sexual Assault

June 20: Mumbai Police registered a case on Tuesday against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmaah producer Asit Kumarr Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj based on a complaint filed by one of the show’s actors.

Mumbai's Powai police have filed an FIR under sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty). The police haven’t made any arrests yet.

Reacting to the news of the case filed against him, Asit Modi denied all accusations made against him and mentioned that he had given his statement to the police. He added that he was not aware of any FIR being filed. He also said that since the case was under investigation he wasn't willing to comment further.

Case Against Asit Modi

This comes after an actor filed a complaint against producer Asit Kumarr Modi and two other crew members, accusing them of sexual harassment. Powai police had recorded the statement of the actor who made sexual assault allegations against the three men. Mumbai police stated that they will soon summon Asit Modi Kumarr for a statement.

Meanwhile, producer Asit Kumarr Modi has refuted the allegations and called them baseless. He stated that he would take legal action against the actor for trying to defame him.
