Pokhara Metropolitan also bans ‘Adipurush’
KATHMANDU, June 19: After Kathmandu Metropolitan banned Indian films from Monday, today due to the controversies created by the film ‘Adipurush’, Pokhara Metropolitan has also sent a letter to stop the film in the theaters of its city area.
Mayor Dhanraj Acharya wrote a letter to the local Srikrishna and Bindhyavasini Hall, Cineplex and Midtown to stop the film.
It was demanded to correct the line in the film “Janaki is a daughter of India” and until the demand was met, the Kathmandu Metropolitan decided to ban all the Indian films in the city, which the Pokhara Metropolitan has also decided.
The film production company Super Cassettes sent an apology to Balen Shah, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Film Development Board on Sunday evening for the hurt caused by the dialogues contained in the film. But nothing has been said about removing the controversial dialogue included in the film.
