14 Nepalese films released in 2 months, only one hit

KATHMANDU, June 17: Nepal’s film industry isn’t showing good signs this year. In the past two months, 14 films were screened in the cinema halls. Only one film managed to hit the box office, rest couldn’t even recover their investment.

In May and June, 14 films including “Bihe Pass”, “Bulaki”, “Jaari”, “Prasad 2”, “Kaidi ko Patra”, “Nai Navannu La 6”, “Jackie I am 21”, “Halkara”, “A Sathi Suna”, “Dakini”, “Tulki”, “Hukka”, “Nirphool” and “Welcome to Hemjakot” were screened in the country. Among them, only “Jaari” managed to hit the box office.

“Jaari” is on the 51st day of its screening and it hasn’t slowed down its earning. According to the production team, the film has already earned over 143 million 200 thousand in rupees.
