Two dead, several injured in overcrowded Jeep accident in Okhaldhunga

KATHMANDU, March 5: A road accident that occurred near Rahutar in Ward No. 3 of Chishankhugadhi rural municipality in Okhaldhunga has claimed the lives of two individuals and left 11 others injured.

The accident involved an overcrowded passenger jeep that was carrying 13 passengers, far beyond its capacity of five.

The deceased have been identified as Bhakta Bahadur Thapa and Min Bahadur Shrestha of the same locality. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police of Okhaldhunga, Deepak KC, some of the injured were airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment, and the condition of three is reported to be critical. Further details about the incident are yet to arrive.

The rural municipality Chairperson, Nishant Sharma, has expressed grief and urged everyone to abide by the traffic rules and regulations.
