Nepal victorious over Namibia

KATHMANDU, Feb. 18: Nepal won by 3 wickets in the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two on Saturday. With the help of Ashif Sheikh and Gyanendra Malla's record partnership and Kushal Malla's explosive half-century, Namibia was defeated by 3 wickets.

This is Nepal's third consecutive victory in the ongoing League Two series at home ground. Ashif Sheikh and Gyanendra Malla shared 139 runs for Nepal, after losing Kushal Bhurtel in just nine runs, in which Ashif scored 81 runs off 98 balls and Gyanendra scored 65 runs off 74 balls.

Kushal Malla, who came after that, also scored a half-century for Nepal. He scored 62 runs off 49 balls. Similarly, Rohit Paudel scored 49 runs, Sompal Kami scored eight runs, Sandeep Jora scored three runs and Dipendra Singh Airi and Kushal Bhurtel scored one run each.

For Namibia, Ruben Trumpelman took three wickets, Benard Scholz took two wickets and Tangeni Lungameni took one wicket. Namibia, who lost the toss and were invited to bat, scored 274 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Jane Green scored 75 runs for Namibia. He hit 11 fours and one six off 63 balls.

Likewise, Pikky Ya France scored 49, Handy Lawrence scored 41, Ruben Tumpelman scored 24, Mitchell Vanlingen scored 22 and Karl Brixtok scored 20. Sandeep Lamichhane took three wickets and Karan KC took one wicket for Nepal.
