Maoist Standing committee meeting: Emphasis on national consensus for presidency

KATHMANDU, Jan. 27: The members of the Standing Committee of the CPN-Maoist Center have given their opinion that there should be a national consensus regarding the election of the President. Vice Chairman and Spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara informed after the meeting that most of the members who spoke on Friday insisted on a national consensus regarding the President.
It has been informed that the presidential election will be held between March 10 and 12. Mahara said that although talks were going on with NSP and Biplav-led CPN about party unity in the meeting, a conclusion hasn't been reached yet.
