Maoist meeting: Inquiry committee proposes prosecution of insurgents
KATHMANDU, Jan. 27: In the ongoing standing committee meeting of the CPN-Maoist Center, current affairs including the report of the party President Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda are being discussed. On the first day of the Maoist meeting called to discuss the election review and the current political situation, the party President gave a 'briefing' about the latest political situation.
On the second day of the meeting, the leaders proposed that an investigation committee should be formed to investigate the non-cooperation and interference within the party in the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections held last November.
In the meeting, Vice President and Coordinator of the Working Group for Party Unity, Krishna Bahadur Mahara informed about the latest progress. The Maoists are in talks with the CPN Unified Socialists Party, Nepal Samajwadi Party, Netra Vikram Chand Biplav-led CPN, and other communist parties for unity. The Maoists have agreed to unite the party with the Baburam Bhattarai-led Nepal Samajbadi Party and said that they are in talks with CPN (US), Biplav, and other parties.
Apart from this, the leaders said that the discussion on issues such as the completion of various departments of the party, and strengthening and expansion of the organization, is continuing in the meeting.
