Election of HoR’s Speaker underway

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: An election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) is currently underway at the federal parliament meeting. 
Ishwori Neupane of the Nepali Congress and Dev Raj Ghimire of the CPN-UML are facing off for the post of the Speaker.
The Nepali Congress on Wednesday issued a whip to its lawmakers to vote for Neupane during the election. The party has urged its lawmakers to compulsorily attend the HoR meeting scheduled for Thursday and vote for Neupane.
