5-hours-long discussion between Prachanda and Oli, agreement on Cabinet today

KATHMANDU, Jan. 16: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli held a discussion for almost 5 hours to find agreement on the package on issues including giving completeness to the government. In a discussion between the two leaders at UML president Oli's residence in Balkot from 10 am, it has been agreed that the cabinet will be decided today. Prime Minister and Maoist Center Chairman Prachanda reached Oli's residence for talks with a lunch meeting.
While leaving the meeting, Prime Minister Prachanda said that the cabinet expansion will be decided today and also informed that an all-party meeting with the Congress will be held tomorrow, on Tuesday. "The expansion of the government will be decided today. There is a meeting of the leaders who voted for confidence tomorrow. We will know tomorrow", said Prime Minister Prachanda.
Prachanda became the Prime Minister with the support of seven parties on December 25th, 2022. The expansion of government from the center to the provinces hasn't been possible due to the failure to reach an agreement on the division of ministries. "There was no way to know what topics were discussed in one-to-one. But if you look at the situation, it looks like it will reach a conclusion", said President KP Sharma Oli's press coordinator Ramsharan Bajgain to Ratopati.
Even before this, Oli Prachanda has held one-to-one talks sometimes in Baluwatar and sometimes in Balkot. After Oli Prachanda's one-to-one meeting, Oli and Prachanda also held separate meetings with the leaders of other ruling parties. Prachanda, who took the oath of the Prime Minister on December 26th, appointed seven ministers on the same day. At that time, after the Prime Minister received a vote of confidence from the Parliament, the leaders agreed to complete the Council of Ministers. But the UML became suspicious after the Prime Minister received a vote of confidence from all other parties including the Congress on the 10th of January.
Although the Maoist leaders say that there is no need for the UML to be suspicious of Congress giving a vote of confidence, the UML leaders believe that there may have been some kind of agreement between Prachanda and Deuba. After giving the vote of confidence to Prachanda, the Congress has been showing interest in the Speaker and the President. For that, Congress has already decided in the meeting for President Deuba to make a deal with Prime Minister Prachanda. UML has been understanding this maneuver of Congress as a conspiracy to break the ruling coalition.
