Condolence resolution passed in HoR meeting
KATHMANDU, Jan. 9: The meeting of the House of Representatives held on Monday has passed a condolence resolution regarding the death of former MPs Maiya Devi Shrestha, Balkrishna Dhungel and Jhul Bahadur Ale.
The meeting passed the condolence resolution without opposition. The Assembly observed two minutes of silence expressing grief over their death.
Shrestha was elected from Gorkha in 2048 B.S. from the Nepali Congress and to the National Assembly in 2056 B.S. Shrestha passed away on the 6th of Kartik at the age of 94. Similarly, Dhungel, who was elected from Okhaldhunga-2 in 2064 B.S. from CPN (Maoist), died at the age of 53 on Kartik 22. And, Ale, who was elected as a member of the Constituent Assembly from Congress in 2070 B.S. died at the age of 72 on Mangsir 9.
The meeting paid tribute to the deceased and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
The next meeting of the House of Representatives will be held on Poush 26 at 11 am.
