CPN (Maoist Center) to stake claim to form new government in Bagmati Province today
KATHMANDU, Jan 9: CPN (Maoist Center) is staking its claim to form a new government in Bagmati Province on Monday.

His claim for the post of the Chief Minister of the province in the support of the ruling alliance.
According to Article 168 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, the Chief of Province shall appoint the leader of the parliamentary party commanding a majority in the Provincial Assembly as the Chief Minister and the Provincial Council of Ministers shall be constituted under his or her chairmanship. Likewise, in cases where no party has a clear majority in the Provincial Assembly, the Chief of Province shall appoint as the Chief Minister a member of the Provincial Assembly who is able to command a majority with the support of two or more parties representing the Provincial Assembly.
The CPN (Maoist Center) and the CPN-UML have agreed to share the power in the Bagmati Province. According to which, Maoist Center will lead the government in the province in the first phase followed by UML in the second phase.
