UML’s leader Hikmat Kumar Karki to be elected CM of Province 1

KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Hikmat Kumar Karki, former Minister of Province and leader of CPN-UML is to be elected the Chief Minister (CM) of Province 1.
With the members of the ruling alliance agreeing to form a government in Province 1 under the leadership of CPN-UML, Karki is now almost certain to be the next CM of the Province.
Karki is currently the parliamentary party leader of CPN-UML in the Province.
The ruling alliance is preparing to stake a claim to form a government in Province 1 by 5 PM this evening.
