Task force formed by Maoist Center for Party Unity
KATHMANDU, Jan. 7: The CPN-Maoist Center has formed a five-member task force under the leadership of Vice President Krishna Bahadur Mahara for unity with various left-wing parties. Along with Mahara, General Secretary Dev Gurung, Deputy Secretary General Jarnadan Sharma 'Prabhakar', secretaries Shakti Basnet and Girirajmani Pokharel are in the task force.
On Saturday morning, party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" and Nepal Samajwadi Party chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai had a discussion in Baluwatar regarding party unity. Sharma, a member of the task force, told Ratopati, "The task force will discuss unity not only with NSP but also with the United Samajwadi Party, Netra Vikram Chand-led CPN, CPN majority, and all left-wing parties."
Today's meeting has also decided to appeal to all parties to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Prachanda. Prime Minister Prachanda is taking the vote of confidence on January 10. Similarly, the meeting has decided to call a meeting of the Central Committee on January 29th.
