Meeting of ruling alliance begins

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: A meeting of the ruling alliance is currently underway at Baluwatar.
The key leaders of CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center), Rastriya Swatantra Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party were present in the meeting.
The meeting will discuss expansion of the Cabinet, policy and programs of the government, according to the Prime Minister;s secretariat. Likewise, the meeting will also dwell on the election of Vice President, Deputy Speaker and other provincial governments.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Dahal as the new PM of Nepal after the Nepali Congress being the largest party in the federal parliament failed to acquire a clear majority in the House of Representatives as per Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal and stake a claim to form a new government in the given deadline. The CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Center) have now agreed to share the power turnwise for the next five years which means Dahal will be the next Prime Minister for next two and half years followed by Oli for next two and half years.
As many as 78 lawmakers of CPN-UML, 32 of CPN (Maoist Center), 20 of Rastriya Swatantra Party, 14 of RPP, six of Janamat Party, four of Nagarik Unmukti Party and 12 of Janata Samajbadi Party have supported Dahal.
