PM Dahal trying to join hands with both old and new coalition members

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal is currently busy in trying to bring in members of both the old and new coalition.
CPN (Maoist Center) was earlier a key coalition member of the government led by the Nepali Congress including the CPN (Unified Socialist) and Janata Samajbadi Party which split after the general election after President of Nepali Congress and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) failed to reach an agreement on power sharing.
The party is now leading a new government in support of CPN-UML and six other political parties. PM Dahal on Wednesday held separate meetings with Mahav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of CPN (US) and KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of CPN-UML.
PM Dahal is now trying to persuade CPN (Unified Socialist), Bam Dev Gautam and his group and Prabhu Shah and his group who were earlier the part of the then Nepal Communist Party formed after the merger of CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN-UML, according to Ramesh Malla, the personal secretary of PM Dahal.
PM Dahal now wants to form a strong communist party bringing in all the communist parties in the country, according to the party leaders.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Dahal as the new PM of Nepal after the Nepali Congress being the largest party in the federal parliament failed to acquire a clear majority in the House of Representatives as per Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal and stake a claim to form a new government in the given deadline. The CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Center) have now agreed to share the power turnwise for the next five years which means Dahal will be the next Prime Minister for next two and half years followed by Oli for next two and half years.
As many as 78 lawmakers of CPN-UML, 32 of CPN (Maoist Center), 20 of Rastriya Swatantra Party, 14 of RPP, six of Janamat Party, four of Nagarik Unmukti Party and 12 of Janata Samajbadi Party have supported Dahal.
