Deuba has also been accused of failing to save the government and remain in power despite being established as the largest party in the general election held recently in November.
The party leaders have also maintained that Deuba took a discriminatory policy during the election and barred some of the key leaders from participating in the election.

According to KC, a group of the unsatisfied leaders in the party is preparing to pressurize Deuba to step down and hold a special convention.
Besides, Gahan Thapa and Biswa Prakash Sharam, two general secretaries of the party have also criticized the working style of Deuba in the public space time and often.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Dahal as the new PM of Nepal after the Nepali Congress being the largest party in the federal parliament failed to acquire a clear majority in the House of Representatives as per Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal and stake a claim to form a new government in the given deadline. The CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Center) have now agreed to share the power turnwise for the next five years which means Dahal will be the next Prime Minister for next two and half years followed by Oli for next two and half years.
