Ukraine wants to hold peace summit to end war

Kathmandu - Ukraine aims to hold a peace summit to end the ongoing war with Russia, but Kiev does not expect the opposition Kremlin to participate. It is difficult to predict an early end of war if Russia doesn’t participate in the summit.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told The Associated Press that his country's government wants to hold a peace summit under the auspices of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres within the next two months. He added that Ukraine wants the war to end by 2023.
The United Nations also responded that "as the Secretary-General has said many times in the past, he can mediate only if all parties want to mediate." Foreign Minister Kuleba said that other countries can freely discuss with Russia for peace talks.
He also emphasized that Russia must face the war crimes tribunal before his country can hold direct talks with Moscow. He mentioned that he was very satisfied with the results of President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to America last week.
