IN PICS: CPN-UML registers its party at EC for upcoming general elections

KATHMANDU, Aug 9: With the government decision to hold the federal and provincial elections on November 20 this year, the political parties have begun registering at the Election Commission (EC).

According to the schedule approved by the poll body, polling officers will be appointed on September 27, offices will be established on October 7 and nominations will be filed on October 9.

Likewise, the final list of candidates will be published on October 12, according to Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya. Similarly, the nominations of candidates for the proportional election system is scheduled for September 18 and 19. 

The ballot papers will be printed from October 14. 

According to the poll body, all kinds of election related publicity will be banned from November 17.

The election will be held from 7 AM to 5 PM on November 20.
