Nepal sees rise in new COVID-19 cases

Of the total cases detected across the country today, 45 were confirmed in Kathmandu Valley alone.

KATHMANDU, June 29: New cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nepal in recent days.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 62 new cases were recorded across the country on Wednesday.

Of 1,620 COVID-19 tests conducted in the past 24 hours, 62 new cases were confirmed. 

Likewise, 19 people who had earlier tested positive for the virus have recovered in the same time.

Of the total cases detected across the country today, 45 were confirmed in Kathmandu Valley alone.

There has been a rise in the number of new cases in the neighboring countries which has contributed to a surge in new cases in Nepal, according to MoHP officials.
