Maoist Center to have 15 office bearers

Party to have six vice-chairs, 299 CC members

KATHMANDU: Standing committee member of CPN (Maoist Center) Dev Gurung tabled a draft of party statute in the ongoing closed-door session of the party on Monday. 

The provision of 15 office bearer positions has been proposed in the draft. The office bearer positions include a chairman, a senior vice-chair, six vice-chairs, a general secretary, two deputy general secretaries,  three secretaries and a treasurer.

On the occasion, Gurung said that the central committee have 299 members. Similarly, 10 percent others will be nominated as per the proposed draft. 

Earlier, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ tabled his political document entitled ‘Nepali Path toward Socialism in the 21st Century', which will be discussed by the delegates. 

Panel-wise deliberations will be held over the chairman’s report and other documents including a draft of party statute. 

The closed session kicked off on Monday as an important part of the ongoing Eighth General Convention of the party.
