Voting for Maoist Center leadership in Province 1 to begin at 7PM today

BIRATNAGAR: Voting for different office bearer positions of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) in Province 1 is being held on Wednesday evening. 

As attempts made to hammer out unopposed leadership failed, the election process began earlier this afternoon, according to Dharmashila Chapagain, a Maoist central committee member. Nominations of candidates are underway, she added. 

Voting for different positions including the chair, vice-chairs, secretaries and joint general secretaries will take place starting at 7 PM. 

As many as 259 delegates will vote for new leadership. 

Earlier, Bagmati Province, too, held elections to choose new leadership.
