Three die in Gulmi jeep accident

Three persons died and six others got injured in a jeep accident that occurred in Gulmi district on Thursday night. The jeep (Lu 1 Ja 4490) heading to Tamghas from Butwal met with an accident at Panchrate of Resunga Municipality-10.

Those losing lives in the accident were Chhetra Bahadur Thapa, 70, and Radhika Thapa, 46, from Jaljale of Musikot Municipality-2, and Sangita Sunar, 19, from Chundari village of Musikot Municipality-3, according to Superintendent of Police, Gopal Chandra Bhattarai. They died in the course of treatment at Gulmi  DistrictHospital, Tamghas.

Among those injured in the accident, five were taken to Palpa for further treatment while one is receiving treatment at a local health facility.

The jeep being uncontrolled had fallen 500 meters down the road. As the accident site was near the district headquarters, the team of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army rescued the injured ones on time.
