PM Deuba summons Cabinet meeting to annul ‘party-split’ ordinance
KATHMANDU, September 27: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has summoned a Cabinet meeting for annulment of the ‘party-split’ ordinance on Monday.
The meeting has been scheduled for 4 PM later this afternoon.
The meeting is likely to annul the ‘party-split’ ordinance as per an agreement reached between members of the ruling alliance.
The meeting will recommend President Bidya Devi Bhandari to annul the ordinance soon after the meeting.
Earlier, Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal also maintained that preparations are underway to annule the ordinance.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the ruling alliance have been stating that the Cabinet will be expanded soon.
Earlier on July 17, the government had introduced a ‘party-split’ ordinance which paved the way for any political party to split if only 20 percent of its central committee members or parliamentary party members are in its favour.
