Lumbini Province Assembly to discuss no-confidence motion against CM Pokharel today

BUTWAL, Aug 11: Lumbini Province Assembly is scheduled to discuss the no confidence motion registered against Chief MInister Shankar Pokharel, on Wednesday afternoon. 

The provincial assembly meeting is all set to kick off at 1 PM, according to the Lumbini Province Assembly Secretariat. 

Opposition alliance comprising Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Rastriya Janamorcha (RJM) have registered the no-confidence motion against Pokharel. 

The Congress has 19 members while Maoist Center has a total of 18 lawmakers in the provincial assembly. While there are three JSP Ruling CPN-UML has the support of 39 members in the 80-member province assembly. 

This is the third time that the opposition alliance filed the no-trust motion against Pokharel.
