Supreme Court refuses to issue interim order as demanded by JSP lawmakers
KATHMANDU, Aug 9: The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order to reinstate the three Lumbini Province Assembly members belonging to the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).
The three lawmakers ---- Santosh Kumar Pandey, Bijaya Kumar Yadav and Kalpana Pandey ---- filed a writ petition at the apex court demanding their restoration after they were suspended. The JSP sacked them after they joined the Shankar Pokharel-led government flouting the party whip.
A single-bench of Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada called the writ petitioners and defendants for further hearing on August 24.
The court also issued a show cause order in the name of defendants including the Lumbini Province Assembly Secretariat.
