Home Ministry instructs authorities concerned to verify Darchula incident

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The Ministry of Home Affairs said that the authorities concerned have already been directed to confirm the reality of the Darchula incident in which a Nepali youth Jaya Singh Dhami died after falling into the swollen Mahakali River on Friday.

The ministry said that its serious attention was drawn regarding the news disseminated in the media about the death of Dhami after falling into the river when the Indian SSB force's personnel cut off the tuin (wire bridge) while crossing the river.

Spokesperson for the ministry Phanindra Mani Pokharel expressed grief over the incident while adding that the local administration and security bodies were instructed to confirm the reality of the issue. 

Likewise, the ministry has also urged the media to not carry on the fabricated news to create an illusion without confirming the objectivity.
