Maoist Center to vote for PM Deuba

KATHMANDU, July 18: CPN (Maoist Center) has made a unanimous decision to vote in favor of the confidence motion registered by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at the Federal Parliament Secretariat. 

A meeting of the Maoist parliamentary party held at Singha Durbar earlier on Sunday afternoon   decided to vote in favor of PM Deuba, according to Rameshowr Yadav, a Maoist lawmaker. 

On the occasion, Maoist Chairperson briefed the lawmakers of the current political events. 

Prime Minister Deuba is taking the trust vote from the lower House of parliament in the second meeting to be held on Sunday afternoon, as per Article 76(6) of the constitution. Deuba was elected the prime minister replacing UML’s KP Sharma Oli as per Article 76 (5). 

Deuba will have to garner at least 136 votes in the 275-member House to win the confidence.
