NC’s Poudel faction’s eight aspirants of presidential position to meet today

KATHMANDU, July 9: Aspirants for the presidential position of the Nepali Congress, who are close to the Ram Chandra Poudel faction, are holding a meeting on Thursday afternoon.
The eight aspirants of presidential positions are scheduled to hold discussions at Anupam Foodland in Battisputali, Kathmandu.
The meeting is being held under the initiation of Arjun Narsingh KC, who is also an aspirant for the post of party’s general secretary.
Senior leader Poudel, General Secretary Shashank Koirala, former General Secretary Prakash Man Singh, former deputy general secretary duo Arjun Narsingh KC and Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Dr Shekhar Koirala and Sujata Koirala will attend Friday’s meeting. Similarly, another leader Kalyan Gurung, who is also preparing to field his candidacy for the presidential position, is also called to join the meeting.
According to leader KC, the discussion will try to forge consensus and reach a common understanding to field a common candidate from the faction.
