UML decides to revive its Central Committee prior to May 16, 2018

KATHMANDU, June 30: The ruling CPN-UML has decided to resurrect its Central Committee prior to May 16, 2018. 

A Standing Committee meeting of the party’s Oli faction, held on Tuesday, decided to summon a meeting of the erstwhile Central Committee for July 2. “The standing committee meeting held  at the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar decided to summon the central committee meeting for July 2, '' said UML spokesperson Pradeep Gyawali.

With this, one of the demands raised by the dissident faction of the party led by senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has finally been met. The Madhav Nepal-led faction has been demanding revival of the central committee, before the unification of the CPN-UML with the CPN (Maoist Centre) began.

Based on the demand from the dissenting faction of the party, the Standing Committee meeting decided to have it endorsed by the 10th General Convention Organizing Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
