UML Chairman Oli calls party’s General Convention Organizing Committee meeting
KATHMANDU, June 27: The CPN-UML UML has called its Tenth General Convention Organizing Committee’s meeting for June 30.
A meeting of the party’s Standing Committee close to Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli,Sunday morning, called for the meeting to be held in the federal capital, party Spokesperson Pradeep Gywali said.
Gyawali added that today’s meeting discussed current national politics and COVID-19 pandemic.
Chairman Oli has called the meeting of the General Convention Organizing Committee at a time when the party’s dissident faction led by senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has been demanding that the party be resurrected as it was on May 16, 2018.
The Supreme Court, on June 10, passed an order that it could not recognize the organizing committee and invalidated all the decisions taken by the committee.
