Sudur Paschim CM Bhatta to go for floor test on Tuesday
KAILALI, June 7: Trilochan Bhatta, Chief Minister of Sudur Paschim Province is set to take a confidence vote at the province assembly on Tuesday.
According to Akkal Rawal, Chief Whip of ruling CPN (Maoist Center) in the province, CM Bhatta is seeking the trust vote as the erstwhile ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) was dissolved to revive CPN-UML and Maoist Center and UML’s Standing Committee decided to withdraw its support to the Bhatta Government.
Bhatta is scheduled to table the trust motion on Tuesday after holding discussions with the opposition parties including the Nepali Congress (NC).
The Budget Session of the province assembly began on Friday, last week. Though a faction of the UML close to Chairman KP Oli said their party had withdrawn their support, another faction close to Madhav Nepal said it still supports the government. As many as 18 lawmakers of the Nepal faction are said to have extended their support to CM Bhatta.
