Supreme Court to begin virtual hearing amid coronavirus pandemic
KATHMANDU, May 14: The Supreme Court has decided to resume its services of justice delivery that remained suspended for some days in the wake of the spread of the second wave of COVID-19.
A full meeting of the apex court presided over by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR on Friday decided to resume accepting writ petitions and hearing on the cases relating to constitutional interpretation, sensitive issues related to fundamental rights and public concerns.
Issuing a public statement, SC’s assistant spokesperson Devendra Dhakal said that a decision was made to begin registration of writ petitions and hearing under the Article 133 and 137 of the Constitution of Nepal.
Similarly, necessary arrangements will be made to conduct virtual hearings to minimize the risk of coronavirus infection. The decision shall come in effect from Sunday.
