District Hospital, Doti ensures 12-bed Covid isolation ward

DOTI, April 26: A 12-bed Covid-19 isolation ward has been set up at the District Hospital, Doti.  The Hospital decided to ensure a dedicated isolation facility bearing in mind the increased risk of infection in the district.

In recent days, most of migrant workers returned from India here are tested positive to the virus, hospital management committee chair Yagyaraj Joshi said. As he said, the isolation ward is equipped with the oxygen support system.

A medical team is available round-the-clock to handle the ward, said Covid focal person Tej Bahadur Shahi.

The District Administration Office, Doti has urged all nine local governments in the district to ensure isolation facilities.

Though the administration has decided to keep India-returnees in quarantine centers for certain days, the local levels have not been able to set up quarantine centers due to budgetary issues.  The Province Health Directorate Dipayal, Rajpur said eight India-returnees succumbed to the coronavirus here in the past one month. Most of government-run hospitals are packed with Covid-19 infected.
