Nepal Sambat celebration committee 1141 formed

Kathmandu -The Nepal Sambat Nhuda National Celebration Committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Ramesh Maharjan to celebrate Nepal Sambat 1141 by organising various programmes. The committee has been formed, giving continuity to the chairperson and other representatives of the celebration committee of the last year reasoning that there is no situation this year to call meeting for it.

A meeting held on October 28 took the decision in this regard. A press release issued by chairperson of the reconstituted committee, Maharjan, said, “The organisations incorporated in this committee can however change their representatives and can send new representatives for this year.”

The committee would take further decisions soon by holding discussion with leaders of Nepal Sambat movement and organisations on the celebration of Nepal Sambat 1141 in view of the coronavirus pandemic. The Newar community has been celebrating Nepal Sambat not only as the festival and New Year but also as the cultural awareness campaign.
