Absconding COVID-19 infected person held

Kathmandu - Police has taken a coronavirus infected person under control today. He had been absconding from Narainapur rural municipality of Banke district since Friday. The person was among the 12 people kept in quarantine at Kotiya of Shankarnagar, Ward No 3 of the rural municipality and absconded soon after COVID-19 infection was confirmed.

Bir Bahadur Oli, Superintendent at the District Police Office Banke, said the absconding person was nabbed at 3 am today. He was found hiding in Narainapur village itself. Fourteen new COVID-19 cases were found in Banke district on Friday alone. Among them 13 are from Narainapur and one is from Raptisonari of the district. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Narainapur alone has reached 87. Narainapur is about 35 kilometres south-east of the district headquarters, Nepalgunj, and borders with India.
