‘COVID Isolation Centre’ Construction Guideline prepared

Kathmandu - The ‘COVID Isolation Centre’ Construction Guideline has been formulated after studying the respective measures placed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and other countries The Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA) prepared the Guideline adopting the methods including consultation with experts from diverse sectors and reviewing of international experiences.

SONA handed over the Guideline to expert advisor of the Health Ministry, Dr Khem Karki, on Sunday. The Guideline was prepared in collaboration with the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) to help government to deal with the current pandemic, said general-secretary of SONA, Suraj Khanal.

The Guideline has encompassed different issues including human resources required for easy and smooth construction of 50-bed isolation centre, according to the SONA sources. As per the Guideline, Nepal can also construct isolation centre by utilizing maximum human resources as in other countries in short span of time, shared Khanal.
